Most of the projects are black-and-white to allow extra time to master drawing.
The time commitment is customized to each student, but tends to take between 90 minutes a week to up to an hour a day for A-G students and those wanting more assignments. Because of school breaks, you will have access to the course for more than 14 weeks.

Photography 201 - DSLR
Ages 10 - Adult. Photography 101 is a pre-requisite
Take amazing photos with your D-SLR!

***Now available for AG credit!***

Learn to use all the settings on your camera to create professional and breathtaking images. We will explore in depth: aperture, shutter speed, white balance, exposure, ISO, etc.
I focus on teaching how to use these settings to create cool effects, rather than how to find the button on your camera - every camera is different and you can use your manual (or online manual) if you can't find a button.

Take photos of nature, people, still life arrangements, and more!
You will create an online portfolio with your best images. Participate in fun photo challenges to practice key skills!

I personally critique 7 to 14 photos per student, providing detailed feedback.
Supplies: a D-SLR camera is highly recommended to get the most out of this course as learning to use every camera setting is one of the focuses of this course. Students can use any camera as long as it allows them to adjust the ISO, shutter speed, and aperture, and these students will still learn a ton. Students can watch the videos on their computer, iPad, Kindle Fire, or smartphone.

Tuition per student per semester: $350

Time: Videos are detailed, yet as short as possible so that you can spend your time actually taking photos. There are 14 modules per semester, and students are required to complete at least 7 modules per semester - this means turning in between 7 and 14 photos per semester.
